Division A

Live coverage of this round's climactic game between Nigel Richards (MYS) and Helen Gipson (Sco), the first of three games Helen would need to win in order to get to first place, was delayed by an hour due to annotator error. Working from player scoresheets over the lunch hour, I was able to reconstruct the game with reasonable certainty and post it; the Quackle analysis is running now and will likely appear during Round 31.

I would have asked Nigel himself, but he's off enjoying a celebratory bike ride, and wont be back for four hours.

He's out cycling of course because after beating Helen by a substantial margin, he's been Gibsonized, and with one player out due to illness, Nigel will get byes for the rest of the day, and finally go undefeated for a whole day. Congratulations, Nigel!

Harshan Lamabadusuriya (Eng) beat Sam Kantimathi (USA) 523-409 to stay in thrd place, and after Helen's loss, he is only a game behind her, 20-9 +1653 to her 21-8 +1113. tsh has adjudged that Joanne Craig (AUS) is too far behind on spread at 18-11 -132 to have a reasonable chance of catching Helen. So it's Helen vs. Harshan at Board 1, with Joanne playing Terry Kirk (Eng) and Theresa Brousson (MLT) playing Craig Beevers (Eng).

Division B

Jayne MacKenzie (Eng) isn't letting Gibsonization slow her down, beating Sheila Anderson (Eng) 473-279 to reach 26-3 +2644. Charles Micallef (MLT) finally broke his long losing streak, beating Anna Borg (MLT) 435-400, just in time to stay in second place at 18-11 +1389. Catalin Caba (ROM) moves into third at 18-11 +636 with a 494-248 win over Sue Ball (Eng). Nicky Huitson (Eng) is the last player at 18-11 (+58), with a 470-361 win over Carmen Toscano (Eng), which put her spread back into positive territory.
