Nigel Richards (MYS) is playing second-ranked Raymond Tate (Sco) at Board 1. I take a quick look at the board as Nigel challenges off Ray's CALORIfY, and comes back with a six-tile overlap of pHORATE under cOALIEST making CH# OO# AR LA IT EE#. I haven't checked the score, but am guessing Nigel may be in the lead.

John Barker (AUS) thought he played OUtRIdE for 68 points until Theresa Brousson (MLT) pointed out that the O was already on the board: John had played from a six-tile rack. Ouch! The play stayed on the board, scoring only 18 points.

Nigel wins 520-250, Ray quips that he feels lucky to have finished as high as second place in their game.

David Webb (Eng) is now in second behind Nigel, also undefeated are Theresa Brousson (MLT), Jackie McLeod (Eng), Helen Gipson (Sco), Joanne Craig (AUS) and local heroo Jojo Delia (MLT).

In Division B, Jayne MacKenzie (Eng) leads four other undefeated players: Paul Mifsud (MLT), Bronagh Kenny (IRL), Nicky Huitson (Eng) and Joe Caruana (MLT).
