This is the first round of the second of four days of play.

In this round's annotated game, the sole remaining undefeated player, Cecil Muscat (MLT), plays sixth-ranked Carmel Dodd (AUS). Two phonies were challenged off the board in this game, but one stayed on. Which of the following words played are acceptable in CSW07: BEOUF BIVIA NOWE OWERS?

Annotation will be delayed this round, as Albert Zammit (MLT) has come back off the sick roster, bringing Julie Tate (Sco) into play. After some deliberation, TD Amy Byrne has ruled that Julie will enter the tournament with a record of 0-0 +0 rather than 6-0 +900.

Cecil falls 374-422 to Carmel and is now in third place, lowest-ranked of the players on 6-1. Mikki Nicholson (Eng) beats David Delicata (MLT) 453-392 at board 2 to return to first place, Helen Gipson (Sco) beats Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA) 460-347 at board 3 to return to second place. There are now four Maltese players in the top ten again: Cecil, Theresa Brousson (MLT) in fourth, Jojo Delia (MLT) in sixth and David Delicata (MLT) in 9th, all except Cecil at 5-2.
