In this round's annotated game, first-place Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA) plays twelfth-place Carmel Dodd (AUS).

Just three more of today's nine rounds to play, then another nine tomorrow, and eight more on Monday. Then it's a few days off for some sightseeing before the Malta International Scrabble Open starts.

Mikki Nicholson (Eng) and Chinedu both win their games this round, but this time it's Mikki that has a 515-310 blowout over Pramit Kamath (IND), and Chinedu who ekes out a 419-405 win over Carmel, so they trade places now, with Mikki leading by 41 points of spread. Helen Gipson (Sco) beats David Delicata (MLT) 446-414 to remain alone at one win behind the leaders, and Theresa Brousson (MLT) adds to her commanding spread with a 525-337 win against Raymond Tate (Sco). Astonishingly, Dan Sandu (ROM), the only other player at two games back, remains in negative spread, a 361-338 win over Jojo Delia (MLT) not being enough to overcome a crushing loss to Chinedu last round.
