There is no annotated game this round, due to an issue with one of the annotators. Which is a bit of a shame, because Board 1 this round featured the only game played between undefeated players, Cecil Muscat (MLT) and Mikki Nicholson (Eng), and Cecil, the 324-point WESPA rating underdog, defeated Mikki 537-439. I have a photo of the final board position, which I'll post later this evening when I've caught up with the coverage delays from the earlier network issues. I also have Mikki's racks and plays, but nothing for Cecil. It looks like Cecil opened with 8b ENFILES, and Mikki replied with e5 hONIEDlY#. The rest of Mikki's plays were reported as f4 TIX +52, 7g HEIFERS +80, AUA +16, VAIN +39, PERV +36, BUDO +21, LARGO +37, WUDUS +28, JO +31 and GEED +24. That leaves a double-double CREATINE +90, BROTHERS +84 and good scoring plays with the JQZ for Cecil. Cecil is now in the lead and one of only two undefeated players; Mikki drops to third place, leading the 4-1's.

At Table 2, Theresa Brousson (MLT) played Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA) to a 457-371 win to drop to fourth place. At Table 3, Vincent Boyle (Sco) lost his first game to David Delicata (MLT) and falls to eighth. At Table 4, Helen Gipson (Sco) beat Dan Sandu (ROM) 413-401 to remain undefeated and climb to second place.
