In the annotated game at Board 1, it's Nicky Vella-Laurenti (MLT) vs. Theresa Brousson (MLT). Theresa starts the day on 6-1 +953, leading Mikki Nicholson (Eng) +782 playing Evan Cohen (ISR) +231.

Theresa and Nicky split the blanks, with Nicky using his early on to bingo TURnERS and Theresa using hers late for InDITER. The only other bingo scored was Nicky's DEGOUTS#, but Nicky drew and scored well with the JQXZ for the win.

Mikki lost to Evan 401-322 at Board 2, so at the end of this round, Evan is alone on 7-1, and five players follow him on 6-2. Theresa is still the spread leader at +856, followed by Mikki +703, Nicky +535, Yi En Gan (DEU) +388 and David Delicata (MLT) +363.

In Division B, Margaret Armstrong (Eng) started the sole undefeated player on 7-0, facing Brid Ni Bhriain (IRL), the leading 5-2. Jim Wilkie (Sco), the sole 6-1, played Maureen Hoch (ISR), the next of eight 5-2s. Jim won but Margaret lost, so there are now two players on 7-1, with Margaret ahead of Jim by 172 points. Behind them are four players on 6-2: Brid, Sammy Mangion (MLT), Geoff Cooper (Eng) and Mary Morgan (IRL). Margaret's loss to Brid will turn out to be her only loss all day.

Mary just beat Mario Seychell (MLT) 477-472 in the highest-scoring combined game so far in the division, as well as the game with the highest losing score.
