Go to: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, Round 5, Round 6, Round 7, Round 8, Round 9, Round 10, Round 11, Round 12, Round 13, Round 14, Round 15, Round 16, Round 17, Round 18, Round 19, Round 20, Round 21, Round 22, Round 23, Round 24, After the Tournament.

In the annotated game at Board 1, it's Evan Cohen (ISR) vs. Helen Gipson (Sco) for a third time, because Helen is the only one who can now catch Evan. At Board 2, Yi En Gan (DEU) vs. Carmel Dodd (AUS) for a third time. At Board 3, Mikki Nicholson (Eng) vs. Theresa Brousson (MLT), also for a third time. Evan is 17½, Helen 16, Yi En 15 and Mikki 14. Helen, Carmel and Mikki win, which means we need no simulation to see what's going to happen in the final round.

At Board 1 next round, Evan and Helen are each guaranteed at least the €500 second prize, and the winner of their game will get the €1,000 first prize.

At Board 2 next round, Mikki and Yi En are playing and the winner will get the €300 third prize.

In Division B, Jim Wilkie (Sco) plays and beats Pauline Cilia (MLT), 456-287, securing second place for himself. He will play Margaret just for fun and ratings next round, as they are Gibsonized to each other. Third place is still wide open though. Pauline Cilia (MLT) is 15-8 but only +66, playing Mario Seychell (MLT) 14-9 +842, and any of the other 14-9s: Brid Ni Bhriain (IRL) +738, Gila Blits (ISR) +547, Albert Zammit (MLT) +370 and Jim Lyes (Eng) +40 can at least make it up to 15-9 and some kind of spread. In practice, Albert and Jim are almost certainly out of the running, and Brid and Gila need more than a little bit of luck, but are not completely eliminated.

Stay tuned to see how it turns out.
