In Division A, we begin with eight players on 4-1, ranging from Mikki Nicholson (Eng) +729 down to Cecil Muscat (MLT) +108. They're playing at Board 2. Up at Board 1, Theresa Brousson (MLT) +658 is playing Pramit Kamath (IND) +124 in in the annotated game at Board 1. At Board 4, Jayne Mackenzie (Eng) +259 is playing 3-2 -181 Dan Sandu (ROM), because the Portland Swiss pairings are based on Round 4 standings, back when they were both 3-1. As for the rest of the 4-1s, David Delicata (MLT) +212 is playing Eileen Meghen (IRL), Yi En Gan (DEU) +148 is playing Terry Kirk (Eng), and Evan Cohen (ISR) +145 is playing Chris Keeley (Eng). As the dust settles, we still have six players with only one loss: Theresa, Mikki, David, Jayne, Yi En and Evan.

The situation is quite different in Division B. Margaret Armstrong (Eng) and Bronagh Kenny (IRL) are still undefeated, and are playing each other, so there will be at most one 6-0. Mario Seychell (MLT), Maureen Hoch (ISR), Jim Wilkie (Sco) and Nancy Alroy (ISR) have one loss at the beginning of this round, but are all playing lower-ranked players, so we could have as many as five 5-1s. The results come in and it's Margaret who remains undefeated, and Jim and Maureen who join Bronagh at 5-1.

Frans Farrugia (MLT) beats Lee Ann Tan (IRL) by 255 points, 514-259, the widest margin yet.
