Round 7.

Malta weather forecast for Saturday - mostly sunny periods with highs of 20°C (upper 60s°F)- forecast for the Saturday at the Malta Open Scrabble Tournament is exactly the same with the addition of much higher highs for some and seriously cloudy, if not stormy periods for others! Today will start to sort the men from the boys and the women from the girls - equality in everything in our politically correct world of today. The 7th round got under way pretty well on schedule after a frantic hunt to find half a dozen playing boards which the owners had cleverly concealed around the hall. Everyone seemed to have slept well and had enjoyed their dinner the previous evening and breakfast this morning - Maltese friendly hospitality is working well.

Table won has Jojo Delia (MLT), from Malta, and David Webb (Eng) from UK. Jojo was the only player on Day 1 to have 6 clear wins - he didn't want the day to end as winning streaks like his are few and far between! Jojo played the first bonus - OUTDOERS. A few plays later Jojo got another bonus down with TRAIPSED, both words enjoyed the benefit of including a blank. Towards the end David played MESONIC - the only bonus on his rack and only one place to play it on the board. However it wasn't enough to win the game and Jojo's winning streak has survived the night!
