Everyone who wins a game at this event will prize money, part of a prize fund valued at about USD 20,000, which thanks to the generosity of the sponsor is significantly more than could be funded from the USD 150 entry fees alone. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, winning a game earns you THB 50 (about USD 1.60); on Sunday twice that. Win all your games on any day and receive five times the normal payout. The top three finishers are not eligible for these bonus prizes, but last year the 11th place finisher ended up collecting more prize money than the person in 10th place, because they went undefeated on the last day to collect that quintuple multiplier.

At Board 1 this round, leader Komol Panyasophonlert (THA) faces Odette Carmina Rio (PHL) again. Last time they played, at Board 2 in Round 6, Komol won 486-456; this time the game was lower scoring but with the same outcome: a 408-351 win for Komol.

At Board 2, Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) plays Charnwit Sukhumrattanaporn (THA). Cheah is one game behind second-place Charnwit and needs the win to overtake him. He manages it, 465-351, so at the end of the round it's Komol 15-2 +1034, Cheah 12-5 +1435, Charnwit +1001 and Thacha Koowirat (THA) +461.
