The finals of the 2006 National Championship were held on Sunday, November 5th at The Cavendish Conference Centre, Duchess Mews, London W1G 9DT. Finalists Jake Jacobs and Christian Brown played a best-of-five match to determine the new National Champion.
Players competed in six regional events to qualify for a semi-final event, held in Birmingham on 9–10 September. Jacobs and Brown finished at the top of a 54-player field that weekend, each winning ten games and losing two, with Jacobs finishing in first place with a spread of +587 ahead of Brown on +427.
The public is invited to attend the finals. Doors open at 10:00 A.M. (or earlier, if the weather is inclement), and entry is £6 on the day.

Congratulations to this year’s National SCRABBLE Champion, Jake Jacobs, who defeated Christian Brown three games to two, scoring 415-386, 292-494, 441-359, 351-494 and 423-391.
